Composition: Secwepemc Composer Jeremy Kneeshaw has had a passion for making music for movies since childhood. Growing up on the film scores of legends like Hans Zimmer, John Williams, and visiting the annual Kamloopa Powwow gave an interesting perspective of music, rhythm, timing and emotional storytelling through sound. Echoes of the Homesick Heart (2022) was the first full length stage production Kneeshaw was hired for by Western Canada Theatre. Since then, dozens of sessions, productions, albums, writing consultation and private video contracts have diversified the portfolio. With a unique blend of instrumentation and world building sounds, Kneeshaw’s scores help to tell a story onscreen that can immerse the audience in a traditional yet contemporary way. Hired Gun (Guitar) Secwepemc Guitarist Jeremy Kneeshaw has a variety of backgrounds involving Carpentry, Religion, Athletics, HVAC and growing up on the Reserve, there’s firm belief that Music has stayed with him through it all. Releasing the Jeremy Kneeshaw Album, the Jeremy Kneeshaw Album Vol II, Vol III, 4th Try, A Cover Album, and a Christmas album - “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm”, the love for recording was instant and exhilarating. Building and founding Cutting Station Studios during the Covid19 Pandemic with clientele recording in different genres, with different instruments and with different languages brought with it a diverse approach to the guitar, both acoustic and electric. Playing with a minimal pedal set up, with a thumbpick, and inspiration from all genres and eras of music, there’s more to the sound than meets the eye. A “Hired Gun”, Jeremy Kneeshaw plays for weddings, dances, theatre acts, bands, recording sessions and private concerts. “Best of Kamloops - Musician” category named him Best Musician in Kamloops in 2022 and 2024.
