Angela Schneider was born in Canada but spent many years in Germany studying viola with world renowned performers including Bruno Giuranna and Sandor Végh. She earned her Masters of Music at the Aachen Hochschule für Musik, with a minor in History, during which time she was also a member of the Rheinisches String Quartet in Düsseldorf and the Aachen Symphony Orchestra. This was followed by two years as Principal Viola of the Essen Volkwang Chamber Orchestra.
Currently a violist with the Vancouver Symphony, Angela also plays chamber music and teaches violin and viola at the VSO School of Music. She also teaches music appreciation classes at the VSO Music School, gives frequent pre-concert talks, hosts annual Classical Music and Culture tours to Europe and is a popular Destination and Enrichment speaker on cruise ships.
